Can I use doctors sick note at any time?

My doctor signed me off work with stress and depression a few weeks ago. He gave me the letter which is dates for a two week period. I didn’t end up using it as had just asked for a pay rise at work and didn’t want to rock the boat so to speak.

Does anyone know if I can still use it? Or do I have to go back and get a new one with new dates?

If it's dated which it probably is you'll need a new one.

Does the letter have a date on it? Most sick notes what a return to work date on them.

No, it’s not a get out of jail free card.

titty when you have severe depression and anxiety and you don’t know what kind of day you’ll wake up to, it would be nice to use it when you need it. Call it what you like.

If you've been back at work then you can self certificate for 7 days. You would only need a doctors note for anything over that.
