Is this the tail end of a period or an infection of some kind??

I had a period for 7 days which sort of stopped and started and then for the last 3 days I have had (sorry to be so graphic) stange brown specks and sometimes gluey type of lumps.
I have also been quite sore and slightly itchy , I don't really want to got to the drs if I think it is just a strange sort of period . Btw I am on the minipill and periods usually only last 3-4 days .
I am interested in any similar experiences, Yesterday I thought it was probably some sort of thrush but after having a bath this morning and seeing the water all these small brown specks and splodges in the bath water I actualy feel quite worried. I am interested in anyone who has had a similar experience and can advise.

At the end of a period, I also get the brown specks/lumps (mine are more like "clots". As far as I know, it's nothing to worry about, but it may well be worth getting it checked out by the GP if you are still experiencing it after the weekend (just to put your mind at rest). Sorry, probably not much use to you at all!

I usually get it to some extent but not for days.

Just been reading the drugs thread and can see why this thread is just a tad duller

where did that wink come from?!! meant to add that I get the brown stuff right at the very beginning of my period for 1/2 days, then a couple of days' "normal" period, then a couple of days more of the brown.
