Hospital gift for young stroke victim?

Hi all, found out last night my very good friend had a 'small stroke' yesterday and was admitted to hospital. She temporarily lost the ability to talk and movement down one side. Tests to be carried out on Monday (her 32nd birthday 😢). I'm visiting her today at 11am, any ideas on a suitable present to try and cheer her up? I figure flowers and naughty food are a no go. I was thinking an Amazon voucher (audio books etc) and a birthday balloon for Monday as she'll still be in there. I'm leaving in 45 minutes, does this sound OK? She must be feeling frightened and lonely. All the other patients on the ward are elderly apparently and she has a little girl at home. Thanks in advance.

Oh dear, poor lady! That sounds like a good plan to me. You could also consider an extra long charging cable (primark sells them for £3.50) as sometimes it’s hard to find a plug socket in hospitals where your phone isn’t then out of reach.

That's a great idea, thank you. Unfortunately I am pretty much limited to the dire shops in our local town (where the hospital is). I should have put that in my post, apologies. There's a boots next door to the supermarket so I could get her some little toiletries perhaps. Thanks again.

Balloons are great. Maybe a nice blanket - better than hospital issue

Baby wipes and some nice hand cream. You could give her a nice hand massage. Wipes are a god send in hospital.
