Always tired .. Blood result/ecg

So long story short . I always feel light headed when standing or when stretching up high

I'm always tired and feel just unwell ( not in a sick way ) .

I had an ecg which was normal .
My blood showed low blood sugar but doctor said I don't need to worry about it and it showed I had low iron .... Everything else was fine , I'm being refurred to a cardiologist .
About 3 hours After my phone call with the doctor I got a phone call from the hospital to say that the doctor had refuted me to have a celiac test done next week .... I'm super confused as he didn't mention it to me over the phone me 🤔🤔.....

Do you have regular heavy periods? If you don't (and maybe even if you do ...) then the coeliac test will be related to the anaemia. Coeliac can cause low iron.

Why have you been referred to the cardiologist, do you know?

TurnOfTheShoe · 30/06/2018 04:36

Os it the coeliac blood screening? Have they taken full bloods?

Have you heard of PoTS? It describes your symptoms fairly well (try the at home stand test if you can) and is often not understood too well by anybody that doesn’t specialise.

??? I'm very confused. Blood test results showed low iron. What you've described is textbook low iron. Why is another cause being suspected?

MountainPeakGeek · 30/06/2018 05:21

Sorry. Re-read now. Coeliac disease is a common cause of poor iron absorption.

He mentioned pots , I'm being refured because of the light headedness I get when standing or reaching up high .

I've been perscribed a 3 month course of iron tablets and then I need another blood test .
I don't have heavy periods and they last around 3 days , I don't bleed anywhere else .
Also I eat quite a healthy diet . I had a blood test in Jan 2017 and I had low vitamin d and low iron then ... However I put that down to lack of sunlight and poor diet .. The next test I had during summer was fine

I hope I don't have celiac but I will be happy if something can be found that will explain it ..

Also my mothers side of the family have a history of heart deasese which I've just found out

( Sorry about the poor spelling )
