Pain on left side

I woke up in the night with extreme pain on my left side. I moved around and managed to get back to sleep. It was fine when i woke in the morning and all day. Until about 2 hours ago when it hit again. It hurts when i breathe in. Only on the left at stomach height.
I thought it was muscular as it had faded but now im not sure.

Any ideas?

Try lying down on your back and push on different areas of your stomach with both hands. Is it just the one area that hurts, or is it several areas? Does it move around or is it just very specifically in the one place?
Do you have a temperature, sore throat, nausea, headache? Is it ovulation time of the month for you?

Diffuse pain is more likely to be wind or a stomach virus etc. Localised pain is more likely to be a muscle sprain or ovarian cyst etc
If you have a temp but no other symptoms and it is localised pain, then call the doctors. Any other constellation of symptoms, then watchful waiting is probably you best bet.

@SeaToSki definitely just in one place. It feel very deep, almost at the back, which makes me think its a sprain. I have been struggling to get comfy at night so maybe i did a weird movement in my sleep.
I had my 12wk scan this morning and everything was fine.
