Help... varicose vein

DS (4) just kicked me where I have a varicose vein, it's swollen and gone very hard and painful.
Should I be worried (about clots?) or treat it like a normal bruise?
Anyone any ideas?

Ordinary bruise. Blood clots in the legs that are of concern are Deep Vein Thrombosis so not in superficial veins.
