Anybody know what could cause this?

Every so often, say a couple of times a year this will happen, when it does it's so painful but then it doesn't seem necessary to go to the GP afterwards as I feel I'd be wasting their time.
I take omeprazole for excess acid in my stomach which became a problem after having h. Pylori a few years ago.
Anyway at night when I'm in bed the stomach ache starts, feeling like a gnawing pain, as if I haven't taken the omeprazole (but I have). Last night I took some Rennies and propped myself up in bed but the pain gets worse. Eventually the pain gets so bed that I can't get in a comfortable position and I'm sweating. It sounds pathetic but it hurts so much it frightens me and I've been through childbirth with no pain relief, had dental abscess so I do have pain to compare it to.
I start to feel like I might even need to go to hospital the pain is so severe.
I don't feel nauseous but the only thing I think that might ease the pain is to make myself vomit. It is hard to be sick, as if something is stuck in my stomach, I have to keep drinking water and forcing myself to be sick which is really hard as my gag reflex isn't even working properly, afterwards I do feel slightly better but as if I haven't emptied my stomach.
I eventually drift off to sleep dripping in sweat.
Anyone ever experienced this? I've had stomach bugs and food poisoning but this doesn't feel anything like that as it's pain not nausea and my body doesn't 'want' to vomit iyswim????

I think you should definitely see your GP and explain what you have said here.

I had problems similar to that with gallstones. Definitely see your GP.

MountainPeakGeek · 20/06/2018 07:52

I was thinking gallstones too. Where are you feeling the pain most intensely?

AnnaMagnani · 20/06/2018 07:59

Gallstones.

revelsandrose · 20/06/2018 08:06

The pain is directly under my breast bone but goes through to my back.
I remember my mum saying she had gallstones when she was younger and it was painful.
I feel as though this pain is in my stomach though?

I've just googled gallstones, it does sound very much like that, thank you all, I'll make an appointment with the GP
