POST-CAESARIAN DOES YOUR SCAR STILL WEEP 2 YEARS LATER?

Hi There, Just wondered if anyone else still had an occasional weepy scar so long after their op.it wept alot after birth and I was on antibiotics but I have noticed if I am particularly stressed it flairs up again. I am also losing weight so wonder if that is irritating it?
Any suggestions or remedies would be greatly received. It just makes me feel a bit yukky!

I would get this looked at by at the very least your GP or a gynae if your GP is willing to refer you. It should not be weeping like this especially after this period of time.

It sounds like it got infected after birth if you were given antibiotics for it. Whatever is causing it has not cleared up fully.

ooh no, that doesnt sound nice. i had my c-section just over 4 yrs ago and had an infection afterwards which i had antibiotics for but it was cleared and healed within about 3 to 4 months of the birth. its still visible but no weeping.
i would go to the GP tomorrow if you can.
hope its better soon.

Mine still gets sore (3 years tomorrow) but not weepy.

Coming up to 4 years for me and no weeping since it healed - I'd suggest getting it checked out if I was you. For peace of mind.

lulumama · 23/05/2007 16:13

weeping is not good, sign of an infection perhaps

keep it clean and dry, and get thee to a gp ASAP !!

smugmumofboys · 23/05/2007 16:18

Agree with evryone else - that doesn't sound right. Had two sections and even after the first (infection in scar) it had healed within a few weeks with antibiotics. You really need to go to your GP.

def get this looked at - Ive had two CS adn my scar hardly noticable after 18mths

cheekymonk · 24/05/2007 18:58

Hi all. Just to let you know it turned out to be a fungal infection, not related to scar but in similar place. More likely due to many pies!!!!! I have got some cream and am hugely relieved its not more sinister.
Thanks again for your advice and encouraging me to go to docs.
Have had a brilliant day, ds has just had first pee in potty!!! Am really proud!
Next few weeks could be interesting!
