DS1 sounds like he's going to cough up a lung ATM.
I know I won't be able to get an appt at the doc(although will try) so wondered if theres anyway I could know first....

doctors suddenly become very helpful the minute anyone starts coughing up bloodstained gunk...

If it's an emergency they'll fit you in or get you in to sit and wait. I left my chest infection too late and ended up with severe shoulder pain and also severe pain on breathing and trouble breathing. I had the infection through labour with ds2 and was another 3 weeks until I saw gp, by then I also had infection in both ears and throat but antibiotics cleared it up and I felt much better within days.

I think is when what they're coughing up is green... how is he in himself? does he have a temperture?

LadyTophamHatt · 23/05/2007 09:02

he's ok, in himself...suddenly perked up when I said he wasn' going to school!!

called the docs but no appts but then a cancelleation came through as I was on the phone to them so have to be there at 10:50am.

have playgroup with ds3 and ds4 this morning....I think we'll pop in there for an hour first, terrible mother maybe but.....

When I was ill I felt ok in myself for ages, it wasn't until it got really bad that I actually felt ill.

mistressmiggins · 23/05/2007 09:11

I get lots of chest infections & its green gunk thats the key
also they say if had a cough for over a month should get checked out anyway

FunMumm · 23/05/2007 15:15

So... what was the verdict... how is he now

LadyTophamHatt · 23/05/2007 15:50

not a chest infection.

he looks like death warmed up atm and has a bit of a raised temp but GP listened to his chest for a ages and couldn't hear any "rattling"
