Help - anal fissure, total agony

KyleLilYachty · 16/06/2018 09:00

I've had painful bleeding piles and fissures since ds was born 3 years ago. I've had piles banded once and no relief. They're supposed to be banding them again but heard nothing from hospital. Currently struggling with a fissure - it's just inside my anus and it's like a big ulcer. It bleeds a LOT, I have had to wear a pad in the last few days because of it. The toilet becomes full of blood when I sit down whether I'm having a poo or not. When I do have a poo it's excruciating and it even feels like the muscle of the anus may be spasming. I'm in a lot of pain now - looking for a bit of advice please to help just relieve the pain? Thank you! Sorry for the gory levels of detail.

I’m sure you’re spreading doing lots of things but I would get a bottle of lactalose and take it twice a day along with extra glasses of water. I’d buy fruit tubs and eat one a day (expensive but worth it). I’d get anusol suppositories and use them after each poo. Use water wipes to clean (don’t flush them!). See if doc can prescribe the suppositories with anestethic or whatever it was in them, got them once and they were such a relief.

Keep up the stool softening religiously and give it a few days to heal enough to reduce pain. It’s a horrific pain, sorry for u😫

There are a few recent threads on here discussing fissures. Not pleasant and I’m a fellow sufferer however yours sounds bad you poor thing, mine is on the mend but still there.
It sounds as though you need to see specialist again. They can prescribe better cream and Botox if needed. In the meantime ask for Rectogesic cream from GP, then keep poo soft, salt baths, foot stall to raise legs whilst on loo, suppositories for piles may soothe a bit, ice to calm if feels swollen. And time...lots of time. They are such annoying things.

You poor thing, I know well the agony. Go back to your gp and ask for an urgent referral. I went to the gp regularly and then pleaded with the consultant to help me, as it was affecting my life and work. I had two operations in the end, not pleasant but i haven't had an issue since.

You can get anaesthetic cream from the GP and stool softeners
