This afternoon when hanging out washing in the garden I stepped down a large concrete uneven step and rolled my ankle with all my weight and more. I rolled it the unusual way on the inside of my foot as I was stood on my left foot, crossed my right leg over and down the step. Big crunch (I think but it happened so quickly!) and I went down like a sack of potatoes, my buttocks and side feel very bruised!
My ankle is very painful and unstable to walk on but is not swollen. The pain nearly subsides entirely when I’m completely resting it.
Im going on a walking holiday this weekend and I’m gutted. I can’t walk from one room to the next without holding on to the walls.
I don’t think it’s broken but if I went to a walk in centre or similar would I be eligible for crutches? I’m finding it very difficult to care for my children.
Could it be anything serious or not because the pain subsides upon rest?
