Muscle Biopsy

Anyone here had a muscle biopsy?

I am due to have one imminently. Surgeon is going to do an open biopsy and wants me to have a GA?

I am panicking as I have multiple medical issues, which no one has asked me about and I take a long time to recover - I am still having electrical type pain from a surgery scar from a year ago. I am so fatigued I can barely walk around the house. And I have a heart condition, but the surgeon asked for no background.

Anyone?

Most hospitals have prep assessment clinics these days so you'll be able to highlight your concerns before the day there. If they think there's anything particularly alarming they should be able to track down your anaesthetist to see if they think anything needs doing ahead of the planned date. If all seems straightforward then you'll meet the anaesthetist on the day & they'll make a plan with you then.

Thanks. No mention of a pre assessment clinic. Sounds like they are going to fit me in on an outstanding surgical list ASAP.
