I know nothing about Desomono- what drug is it and used for what?
I have used Norethisterone as part of HRT for 5 years. It is a drug which is linked to raising PMT. I used to feel very irritable and more bad tempered than usual on it. I'd have thought that a better treatment to think about for heavy and irregular bleeding, was the Mirena coil, rather than a drug which can exacerbate anxiety and low mood.

The other thing to consider is whether your anxiety is hormone linked. I don't know what tests you have had but irregular periods long term can be caused by low estrogen and you could in fact be in peri menopause. The treatment to think about would be HRT which would eventually help give you a more regular cycle and might help with anxiety. Has your GP suggested you see a menopause specialist? At 45 you are in the right age range to start thinking if these odd cycles are menopause. I think you ought to push for some specialist advice on what's going on with your hormones rather than a sticking-plaster approach.
