Hi, Had a general GP womans health check last week. Explained that my breast felt a bit hot sometimes like Mastitis literally in passing. I wasn't worried. Plenty of experience after 4 kids Smile. I was referred to breast clinic where I got a cancelled appointment the next day. Mammogram was normal but as they do a triple assessment I was sent then for an ultrasound which showed up a cyst. I had a core biopsy done there and then and I know I cannot presume anything until results back. Why wouldn't mammogram have highlighted something if there was something there? It all seems a bit fast. Although I know I am lucky to have got appointment so fast and biopsy done. I amnt overly concerned but it is in the back of my mind. Thank you.

Not sure how old you are but mammograms aren't that useful in younger women (which is why they're not used as a screening tool in young women). No test is 100% accurate 100% of the time which is why they do all 3 tests. Hope the results are ok.

Thank you. I am 46 so would like to think I am still in the young zone, although if you saw me trying to get out of bed this morning I certainly didn't feel it Smile. Fingers crossed that all will be ok. Thank you for the post.

I am only guessing here but mammos are not 100% accurate. Perhaps a cyst is fluid filled and does not show up on an Xray? Whereas a solid lump would. (?) Hope you get your results soon.
