I realise this might not be the right thread, but I seriously need to talk to someone! On Saturday 2/6/18, I was sexually assaulted by a 'friend' that was stopping at mine for a few days. It was quite a nasty assault and not only am I embarrassed and ashamed that I even know this person, I'm also absolutely terrified that they're going to deny it to the police. He lives around 200 miles away so I kicked him out of my home. CID came Saturday afternoon and spent an hour or so getting a statement, then sent it back to the hometown he was from. I have contacted the office today to be told the officer is now off until Friday. I do not even know if the guy went home or is still in my area. My mental health is suffering, I can't sleep, I can't eat, I've had nothing but headaches since Saturday, and I just generally feel really down. Please, if anyone else has been through this, is it worth taking it to court only for him to deny it?

I didn't want to read and run. I'm so sorry this has happened to you! I have no experience of what you are going through but I'm sure others do so hopefully this will bump your post! xx

Sorry for what happened to you, well done for reporting. Call the police back and say what you've written here. It's not good enough of the police they need to support and help you. 💐

Didn't want to read and run either. That's awful, so sorry Thanks
I agree, call the police again and tell them how anxious you are. Especially if him coming back to the home xx

Can you call rape crisis?

TheIsland · 05/06/2018 07:02

Speak to rape crisis (may be called something different in your area) and get them to set you up with an isva. They will offer counselling too and will arrange the visit with the police.

Thank you all for your replies. I called the police department and the CID officer dealing with my case is off until Friday so I won't even know anything until then. I don't even know if he has been arrested. I'm just so anxious that he is going to deny it and it will be my word against his :( I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow so I'm getting her to refer me to some form of counselling as I still can't eat or sleep. It's a rubbish situation and I'm trying to put a tough face on, but it's just getting me more and more down. Thank you for your replies they are appreciated, it's nice to not feel alone when something like this happens.
