Has she been near any hog weed? That can cause a reaction like that. Hope she is feeling better soon

Pinkkahori · 04/06/2018 00:54

Looks like hogweed. Was she near any plants?-

Pinkkahori · 04/06/2018 00:56

If the sap gets on your skin it can react to sunlight. Dh had it. Very painful.

lenaconnors1 · 04/06/2018 00:58

i dont know what that is? how long would it take to show as she wasnt playing out yesterday all day it was raining?

OP posts:
Pinkkahori · 04/06/2018 01:04

When I googled it seems to happen between 15 minutes and 48 hours.

lenaconnors1 · 04/06/2018 01:04

ok so just googled hogweed and she hasnt been around anything like that.

Pinkkahori · 04/06/2018 01:06

Was she in contact with any plants in the last couple of days? Just brushing past it is enough to cause problems.

lenaconnors1 · 04/06/2018 01:08

this is her hand now

we live in the county side, she hasnt been around anything unusual? she only really plays outside whichid turf

There is a something called bullous impetigo which presents as blisters to start with and then turns to weeping sores before scabbing.

Pinkkahori · 04/06/2018 01:15

I don't think the plant looks particularly unusual. When dh was in contact with it he was just doing some gardening, tidying up a rough part of the garden. It just looked like regular weeds.

lenaconnors1 · 04/06/2018 01:17

is it dangerous?

OP posts:
Pinkkahori · 04/06/2018 01:21

I'm not sure. Dh only had a small patch and it took ages to heal. It definitely needs medical attention.

lenaconnors1 · 04/06/2018 01:24

gp didnt seem very good at hosp today since he changed his mind when i pointed out she had no other symptoms agter already telling him that? this was at 5pm took her to a differant hosp at 9pm due to it worsening but i ds is nearly 2 and was unbelievable cranky. both usually asleep for 8 and after waiting for an hour they said waiting was 3+hrs so would have only being seen now-ish so had to go

OP posts:
lenaconnors1 · 04/06/2018 01:24

Hand foot and mouth

Sorry to read and run. Google it

Puffycat · 04/06/2018 01:29

Hey OP. I’m sorry I don’t know what it is but it certainly looks like some form of contact dermatitis ie DD has come into contact with something, a plant, a chemical that has caused this reaction.
I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about, should be gone in a couple of days.
As long as she’s well in every other way, no temperature, not feeling like shite, I reckon you don’t need to worry.
That said, I’m no doctor!

Pinkkahori · 04/06/2018 01:29

I'd let her sleep if she seems ok and take her in first thing to be seen.
Definitely mention hogweed to the doctor.

lenaconnors1 · 04/06/2018 01:31
