Insect bite infected?

At the airport in Cyprus (Wednesday night) something bit me no idea what it was....on Thursday night it was really painful so I had a closer look and there was a blister with clear fluid so I popped it and put some germolene on it to see if it would relive the pain but no if anything it's now made it worse.
It is now hot to touch and hard (see picture).
I've had ice on it all night and taken antihistamine and ibuprofen and still no better 😑
I need some advise on how to sort this out as it kills as it just under my knee so every time I bend my knee or kneel on it I get reminded pretty quickly it's there!!
Any advise would be greatly received or ideas of what bit me!!

I would call 111 and seek proper medical advice today as this bite may have become infected. You may also need antibiotics.

I would just leave it and not bother the overstretched NHS.
It'll clear up in a few days. The human body has remarkable self-healing powers for minor stuff like a nasty bite.

It's a mosquito bite. You do not need the NHS just give Piriton

BigSandyBalls2015 · 03/06/2018 10:51

Looks like cellulitis which can get serious, I've had it a few times, you'll need antibiotics.

Normal mossie bite. Don't pop. Don't scratch. Will be fine in a few days. They are bastard uncomfortable.
If you get a fever call doc.

Not bad enough (yet?) for me to bother NHS ,either.

I would give it a bit more time but watch carefully and be wary if you develop flu like symptoms. My husband had early onset of sepsis last year after an infected mozzy bite developed into cellulitis. He was ok but he had to get IV antibiotics for two days at the hospital. He sought medical advice after getting flu like symptoms such as shivering, high temp etc

If the red stays in the line you've drawn, continue with ibuprofen and antihistamines. A cool pack (or ice over a towel) may help. If the red starts spredding further, or you feel ill, Dr.
Are you in UK or Cyprus currently?

Star1995 · 03/06/2018 16:57

I'm back in the uk now.
It was really bad this morning making me feel very dizzy and sick I've taken more antihistamine and my mum came over to see if she could get any thing out of it and did and feels loads better now I have an autoimmune disease which she said is why i may have reacted badly to it.
The area I had marked was where it was rock hard not just the redness!
