Deaf in one ear

princesstiasmum · 01/06/2018 23:54

I asked my Dr to look at my ears,as i keep being told i must be deaf as i have the TV quite loud, he said my ears were full of wax, mainly the right one
I have been using Otex for just over a week, my left ear seems to have cleared, but the right one is deaf altogether, cant hear a thing
Rang the surgery to ask for appointment to syringe, have to see Dr again for permission, he told me i have very narrow ear canals
I once had to go to hospital to have wax removed,
Anyone any idea what else i can do to clear it
I donr ever remember having to see Dr again, anyway just going to ring him and ask him to give permission, as it means 2 more trips to the surgery one for him then another for nurse

Have you tried warm olive oil? Or Earcalm?

Littletreefrog · 02/06/2018 00:15

Could you afford to go private and have that thing where they hoover all the wax out of your ear (it has a proper name that I can't remember)

I was told by a doctor not to use otex as it can irritate the ear,. Olive oil is the best thing to use.

goose1964,thank you, only using olive oil now, but making no difference , my Dr said use otex
