Okay my first day and all going well, like the lasck of mess, can get the thingy in okay, blood not as bad as I thought

BUT

the getting it out suction thing - that is weird - it feels all weird - how do I stop that feeling that my whole fandango is going to be turned inside out?

posts I never thought I;d type....hear goes...I thought the mucus and lack of blood was because of my mirena. I introduced a mirena and a mooncup at about the sa,me time so I attributed it to the former, rather than the, erm, chance to have a good look....never aksed dh to look though, (though I have been known to chuck it in the sink whilst he's standing around brushing his teeth, which is not as bad as it sounds, we have two sinks) nor have I contemplated freezing it for my, or my friends allotment.

AitchTwoOh · 20/05/2007 23:12

i do have blood, i should say, just in case you think i've got a mooncup full of snot. but it's definitely not what i thought. plus i think that amount of blood has decreased as well.

luciemule · 20/05/2007 23:15

Sorry to go off the op for a sec but does anyone know if the mooncup is based on something more ancient? Did people just use old bits of cloth like today's sanitary towels or do you reckon they had some sort of leather/metal mooncup?
I still haven't ordered one - can't quite do it yet - DH told me to just do it.......like what does he know about it all hey?! Oh yes I forgot - he has to shave everyday!

FrannyandZooey · 21/05/2007 08:02

About the size - yes, anyone over 30 or anyone who has given birth vaginally can use the large size. If you have problems with the larger size fitting then apparently you should work on your pelvic floor

I am not convinced I have as much mucus as the rest of you

mine is also relatively unstringy

oh god I am a dull menstruater

FrannyandZooey · 21/05/2007 08:03

Lucie I don't know bu interesting q
I am sure there is a history of menstruation knocking about but from what I know they just used rags and washed them

DimpledThighs · 21/05/2007 09:59

Me too on the mucus thing...

luciemule · 21/05/2007 10:51

thanks - very interesting article about the hbistory of mooncups. I'm slowly converting my views......

DimpledThighs · 21/05/2007 11:34

luc - that was me about two months ago but I really am converted to this way of doing things - less messy tahn saintarty towles and less damaging and scratchy than tampons.
#Just feels very right.
