I had a full set of bloods done last week after going to the GP with increased frequency of migraines, which I think is due to hormone levels fluctuating (I'm 48).

My blood levels came back but I'm not due to see GP til next week, receptionist said my thyroid value is 18.2 and I need repeat thyroid function tests in 6mths and GP will talk to me about it next week. I'm struggling to find what the normal level should be, and so if mine is high, low or within normal range. Can anyone hlp? Thanks!

It depends on the test. Ask for the full test results which will include normal range. Sounds like you need medication though, push to be tested again in a month at the latest if they won't give you anything now.

They should have tested two or possibly three different things (TSH, T4, possibly T3), so you need to know what that number refers to (and the reference ranges) in order to know if it’s normal or not

okay, thanks, I'll go in tomorrow and ask for a copy of the full results
