Perineal reconstruction after childbirth

I was just wondering if anyone has had to have a perineal reconstruction after childbirth? I gave birth to my son 13 months ago and was informed last week that I have to have the procedure. I’m just after information on how common this is and how people recovered from it if they’ve had it.

Yup. Had 3a tear 8 years ago. When she was 3months I went back under, got unstitched and restitched in and out. I went privately it was about £1600 for day surgery. Dd2 then followed 3.5 years later by elcs.
