Painful lump under right arm

Hi. Not usually a regular poster but just wondering if anyone has experienced this.

So had quite sore underarm for a few weeks suspected it was shaving irritation/ingrown hair etc. Now yesterday I had a new bra on and it felt quite tight and wires were pinching under my arm. Woke up today and have quite a painful area not only sore but its actual pain inside. Out of nowhere tonight ive found a large hard lump not actually on the sore area so dont think its a spot.

Its actually really hurting cant get comfy in bed. Obviously im going to try get to gp tomorrow, but made the mistake of googling...anxiety sky high now.

I've had one under my arm pit before, really painful.

It sounds like a swollen lymph node, it's likely nothing to worry about but obviously get it checked just in case. Lymph nodes are there to fight infection and one of mine was swollen when I had an abscess. Stay away from google! You only end up reading about worst case scenarios. Let us know how you get on with the doctor

Oooh, deffo get to the docs. I have a lump under my armpit and I was referred to specialist. Ended up having scan etc and it was determined to be extra breast tissue. Unlikely for you I guess, as I was in my early 20s when I got this checked out. It hurts sometimes, usually when I'm on my period. Since getting pregnant though, in the first trimester it was very tender.

Thank you. Yes hopefully just lymph node, had boils in various places before but thry havent caused me discomfort like this the pain has just come from nowhere.

Thinking the new bra could be a cause aswell wont be wearing that again

Got a doctors appointment this afternoon. Pain is even worse today its all in my shoulder.

Im been referred to breast clinic, im absolutely crapping myself. Worried sick I hope appointment hurrys up get it over with

I went to the hospital about a breast lump last week. I know it's not much consolation right now but they'll do an examination, an ultrasound, a mammogram and a biopsy (if you need one) and you should get your results straight away. I know it's hard right now and you'll be thinking of the worst possible outcomes but try to keep in mind that 9 out of 10 lumps are completely harmless

I found trying to keep busy helped to take my mind off things a bit, although if you really are struggling or you aren't sleeping properly then go and speak to your gp who can prescribe something short term to help you out
