Heavy and detailed sleep talking?!

Don’t know what to make of this. My boyfriend is a prolific sleep talker - all sorts of stuff comes out at night and more often than not, the stuff he talks about in his sleep involves people or things that are current.
Now I know the brain tidies itself up in sleep but this is a lot and I’m wkndeifnnif he’s not processing at all awake or if he’s repressing things and then it comes out at night?

Thoughts?

It is a sleep disorder.
It is quite common in children most but not all grow out of it with some people it stays well into adulthood. It seems to run in families (does his DF talk in his sleep?)
My DS (15) talks about minecraft a lot, my DB talked about school sport

MNetters guided me to this blog "sleep talking man".

My Dad did this all his life. He was a teacher and would replay the whole day in his sleep, adding in new items and cricket scores in summer!
He was quite a complex and sometimes anxious personality.

However apparently I also do this, and I'm quite laid back... so may be just a family trait!
