Lumps in armpits?

DD is 5 days old, she's fine, my milk has come in and she's feeding well, despite it being a bit toe curling when she latches on initially. I have found some lumps in my armpits - are these likely to be milk ducts, and will probably go down as milk production settles into baby led pattern, or should I get them looked at? They're a bit tender but not painful
Thank you

I had this when my milk came in. They were just silken lymph nodes. Went down in a few days.

Swollen obvs. 😂

Your breasts extend into your armpits. The milk glands in them can get very full and tender.
To relieve this
: try feeding using a rugby (underarm) hold to encourage drainage
: while the baby is feeding, massage the swollen armpit towards the breast for even more encouragement of drainage.
It will get better!

That's what I wanted to read :) Thank you both

I think silken sounds much more poetic than swollen :D

That's good! I sat with a women this morning and showed her how to do the position and the massage. It worked.

Left one nearly done, right needs a bit more work. Thank you
When you say massage is is just pushing from armpit towards nipple, or should I be using a kind of circular motion?

A gentle smoothing motion towards the breast is what I use.
