Keep getting thrush what feels like every other month.

two months ago i started taking probiotic vitamin tablets, pre&probiotic drinks for a few weeks and have come down with thrush again

I talk to dh, friends, mn about any worries i have, i have stopped eating biscuits and snack on fruit, i wash everyday and wear cotton knickers.

I'd better give the ol' garlic advise again for your benefit as it really does work as many formerly thrushy MNers will testify.

Peel clove of garlic. Infuse with a couple of drops of tea tree oil. Thread through the middle with a length of cotton (for easy retrieval), pop up inside and go to bed. retrieve in the morning.

Probably best to dissuade partner from venturing into the area during the course of the treatment.

Thanks for your messages, not too sure about the garlic one, i am wondering where you found that one out!

Will try washing with just water too & tell dh to after sex.

Have stopped also having bread made in the breadmaker so will see how that pans out.

It is really horrible having thrush isn't it, hope all these things will put a stop to it as when i come down with it , it makes feel depressed

Hi there. Poor you - when I was pregnant last year I got thrush nearly every month and after i had the baby thought would go - wrong! I kept getting it every other month and really got me down.

I have tried to cut out/down on amount of bread I eat and found that the following has stopped me getting it (touch wood) for the last 3 months:

Holland and Barrett "Yeast Raiders" caspules every day - saves you drinkning Pau D'arco tea which is anti-fungal but totally gross

Having an actimel every day

Putting a few drops of tea tree oil in my bath every day

Interestingly when I saw my gp about it she said she said she thought that pessaries were more effective than the oral tablets for treatment of thrush as well.

Hope this helps - I know how down it can get you
