Help!

My daughter who is now 4 weeks old has been suffering with constipation over last few day, today I had my health visitor and I explained everything to her and things I've tried, she then got cotton bud and applied some Vaseline and placed it inside my daughter bum. Not long ago I told my friend what she did and she was so shocked and said it was abuse.
So can someone please tell me if my health visitor was in the rights or wrong with what she did, because if it is abuse and she has not right to do it I'd like to report it to the police.
Also I am first time mum so I am unsure of this and to be honest, it has made my daughter sleep and feed better as she wasn't getting enough sleep waking up after 15 to 30 mins sleep and I also breastfeed and she would only do about 5 mins feeds. Where today after the health visitor did what she did she fed for nearly half hour on each breast and getting more sleep.
Please I need other mum opinion wether if I should be concerned/worried.

No, it’s not abuse, it’s medical care - similar to a health care professional using suppository if the situation called for it. She has helped your DD to gain comfort from the pain she was experiencing. But perhaps the midwife should have explained the procedure better, to prevent misunderstanding. Please don’t call the police.

A health visitor is a trained professional who helped your baby. Don't listen to your 'friend'. She sounds like a pita!

Thank you guys. I didnt think it would be but i had to check and my health visitor was gentle with her. I just didnt know if she was allowed. Im glad i came on here now as i spent hours worrying. Now i feel better knowing that it wasnt abuse. I blame my friend for making me worrying so much. Thank you again i feel so much better now. 😁
