IBS - Bloating but not much pain

I have had IBS for 25 years, not constantly but have had flare-ups over the years. I've gone for IBS-D to mostly IBS-C. The odd thing is I barely get any pain, just the odd cramp and occasional wind pain under ribs on both sides.

I have had 2-3 eps of bad bloating since December which have lasted 1 week to ten days. They don't tie in with my cycle but I am going through peri-menopause at the moment.

My stomach bloats worse during the day but goes down somewhat during night (not entirely). I just feel as though my bowel has got lazy, even though I go everyday. My dad has been ill, got worse in December and sadly died a few weeks ago, so the stress and anxiety has been the trigger.

Does anyone else get bad bloating without much pain? I am going to the GP next week to rule out anything more serious.

I have suffered with IBS for a similar amount of years and quite often I get stomach discomfort rather than pain, although last night I was doubled over after eating a big meal too close to bedtime. I get lots of wind too, an urgency to open my bowels, periods of constipation and other times (like now) diarrhoea. Sometimes I pass only mucus and my stomach often makes loud gurgling noises. Sometimes I also get the bloating, especially after a big meal.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Sad I find I often get flare ups following times of stress.
