I suffer with neuralgia and last year it was really bad. In the end, after trying several things, I was put on Pregabalin which worked. After a while (several months) my Dr wanted me to try coming off of it gradually which I did and was pain free for some time. However, the neuralgia has now returned and over the last few weeks it seems to be getting worse. I have restarted taking Pregabalin about two weeks ago but so far it doesn't seem to be helping much - has anyone else had this? Is there a chance it might just be taking a while to work this time and it could still work?
The other issue is that I have a wisdom tooth on the same side of my face that is affected by the neuralgia, that has also been causing me pain. Last week I saw my dentist and they have agreed that it needs to be removed. Ever since then it seems the neuralgia has been worse and I'm wondering if that has been triggered by the dentist 'messing around' in that area. I'm now really nervous about having the tooth removed in case that might trigger the neuralgia too - has anyone gone through anything similar? Was the extraction ok?
