Period - This isn't normal is it?

My period started yesterday. They have always been quite heavy and at night I use a tampon for the heaviest flow plus a sanitary towel for night time. This morning when I got out of bed, blood gushed and poured down my legs and actually pooled on the floor?!!! Wtf?! It looked like a scene of a gory accident.

There's no way I could have been pregnant or anything like that. So what could it be? I'm having worse period pain than normal too.

Thanks!

Go get checked out!

Perhaps your flow was particularly heavy this time and it soaked through your tampon and once you got up from bed gravity took hold and out it came ?, when your laying down it will still come out but at a slower rate and when you stand it comes out

I have had this happen to me when my period is particularly heavy, I have also soaked through tampons in less than an hour. First thing in the morning is the worst because as pp have suggested it just collects inside you all night.

Obviously if it is really unusual for you and your worried then get it checked out though.
