I had a mirena coil inserted nearly 3 years ago due to VERY heavy bleeding but it didn't do the trick so they put me on cileste as well, which worked nicely, just a light monthly bleed so I was more than happy with that.
For the last 6 months the bleeds have been getting longer and heavier and I'm now bleeding for about 3 weeks, which makes me feel exhausted, and then I get another week or two with nothing.
I'm really struggling to lose the weight that's piling on around my middle these days and am wondering whether that's due to the amount of hormones I'm on - anyone got experience of this?
Also, I'm seeing a specialist later and am considering asking for novasure as my 3 years for my mirena are nearly up anyway - has anyone had experience of this procedure? Is it a general or local anaesthetic? Has it worked for you? What's the recovery like? Google is too scary so I'm looking for real life stories - thanks!
