I sound like I have consumption. PEople edge away & cross themselves when I start coughing. Has been going on over a week.
I am firmly of the 'it's onyl a cough' school
DH says he's had enough of me sounding like a seal.

i ended up having chest x-ray last winter cause i was the same as you..its only...ITS NOT...

Um, yes coughing up foul yellowy green stuff ... but there's no blood in it yet ...

I wouldn't go - the gunk has to come out and it's normally the beginning of the end. IME coughs usually last up to 2 weeks but will get better by themselves. I'd say you'd know if you felt bad enough to need Antibiotics and what else are they going to give you?

if it is in your chest you should have it checked esp if ever smoked..i have, do, well socially.....

and didnt bother going to doc ....when i did go for ds, they sent me to hospital asap chest xray...i felt i was on the death express bus going there....just chekc it out whats the harm ?

I'm giving it til next Monday as I can't get appt today(compromised with dh)

Any chest pain when coughing/breathing, do go to the doctor, I ended up with pleurisy over Easter and needed antibiotics. Cough was due to chest infection and laid me up for three days at one point.

I never get coughs or colds normally so dismissed it for several weeks too!

Yes, go. My coughing turned out to be pneumonia (I thought only the elderly and people in Victorian novels got that).

Had to have loads of antibiotics and ended up with scarring on lungs because I put off going for such a long time.

Oh blimey - where are all the people who have nice normal coughs that just last 2 weeks when I need them
