Prolactinoma

I have been struggling with fertility for a while now. Today I went to the doctor for something else and mentioned headaches and an increase in double vision and she looked panicked and now wants to take my bloods (booked in for next Wednesday) to test for prolactinoma. I am panicking majorly. Has anyone here had this and was everything ok?

I know someone who has a prolactinoma. She had a bit of difficulty with side-effects of the drug she was initially treated with but seemed a lot better when she had the treatment changed. I haven't seen her for a while, though, so I don't know about any more recent developments.

The prognosis is generally good but it can take a while to get the drug treatment right, and some patients require surgery. There's a fair bit of information at www.pituitary.org.uk/information/pituitary-conditions/prolactinoma/.
