Broken elbow and holiday

My dp has broken his elbow and is having an op to fix tomorrow. We are supposed to be going abroad in 2 weeks time. Does anyone have any experience of a broken elbow and could give me an idea of whether it's going to prevent him flying (shorthaul) ?

Did he not get any advice from the hospital when it was broken? If not then ask tomorrow. If they say he can’t fly then he can request a doctor’s letter for your travel insurance company.

You can’t fly with a full cast something to do with air pressure making you swell. Half cast only

I would ask hospital doctors advice though this gives a rough idea

Thanks for the replies. We will be checking with the doctor, I just wanted a rough idea.

I would say right at the start, there's sometimes flexibility on how they do things.
