Possible UTI/ Kidney infection - advice/hand hold please!!

So for the last couple of days I've had some very mild pain in my back around my lower ribs/above hips. Initially thought it was muscular but then yesterday I was urinating a lot (decent amount each time) and felt a bit nauseated.
Went to GP this morning who tested a sample, said it was a possible infection but not definite and gave me 3 day course of Trimethoprim and sent sample to lab.
I'm a bit confused because whenever I've had a UTI in the past I've had burning and feeling like I need to go constantly, no back pain or nausea.
None of this this time, just feel a bit crap and under the weather. If it wasn't for the on and off back ache I wouldn't have gone to gp at all.
Has anyone had a UTI like this before? I have some health anxiety anyway and now I'm scared that I have a kidney infection. GP said I can take antibiotics if I feel it's getting worse or hold off until results are back on Monday. I'm inclined to start them, but should I if it's not a definite infection?!

Yes I have utis like that, I would be inclined to take antibiotics. Treatment for kidney infection is also antibiotics. I was told mine couldn't be kidney as pain mild but just take antibiotics and go back if you aren't better.

I do have a kidney infection and am
On some strong antibiotics OP

They can be very serious of not treated to take care

Yes I know they're serious which is why I'm quite worried. However my back pain has now gone and I have zero other symptoms - I assume it's quite unusual to have a kidney infection with no symptoms? Ive no problem taking antibiotics if clearly needed but I also have IBS so don't want to take them unnecessarily and mess up my digestion even more.
