Blood test advice

After a few infections and generally being unwell my GP took blood tests. I was advised today they have come back as clear and no action required other than a note to say I was to have repeat blood tests non urgently.

All good but it's playing on my mind why I'd need more blood tests at all if everything is fine? I've to go back on Monday to get them taken.

I did ask the receptionist on the phone but she said she didn't know. I'm tempted to call back but I know it's a busy surgery. Just with everything that's went on recently I feel a bit low and anxious about it.

Would anyone be able to shed some light? Sorry this is so long for a simple question!

Anyone? Feel pathetic but could do with someone even hazarding a guess

I had this. One of my tests was within range but at the higher end so they wanted to repeat it non urgently to compare the levels. It remained at the same level and it was decided that that was normal for me. Please don't panic - if it was something to worry about they wouldn't have said the results were normal. I used to be a receptionist at a GP surgery and this was a fairly routine request from the doctors.

Thank-you so much. That makes absolute sense. Nice to talk to a voice of reason! I've just had such a roller coaster health wise since my section that I think I was starting to get things out of proportion. Thanks again for replying it really means a lot Flowers

I had a letter some years ago about needing to make an appointment again in 3 months time. I ignored it but did ask my GP months later during a routine appointment what it had been all about. I was told that one of my thyroid function test had come back above normal, but not bad enough to warrant treatment at that stage.
