Trapped finger

DS caught his finger in the car door on Saturday (husbands fault!) - from bottom of nail up it's gone black underneath.
The swelling has gone down and he's using it/bending it.
Should I just wait and see if it falls off??

I had to have my nail drilled to release pressure under the nail, and an xray showed my finger had been broken. However, I was in a lot of pain so it was obvious something was wrong! Maybe check with the practice nurse?

Oh really! Well he's fine during the day distracted playing really! But last night he was crying and said it hurt so we are going to take him up to the GP tonight to get it checked over.

GP saw him on Thursday and he has an infection! Poor thing has 10 days of antibiotics and his nail will come off - he's still a happy boy though 😁
