Hi ladies,
I am scheduled to have my endometriosis surgery in 10 days and I am terrified!
Has anybody had these procedures done? (Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy)
If so what is recovery like and can you offer me any advice?

Thanks in advance SmileConfused

I had a laparoscopy 8 days ago and it was a breeze!
I was under for 1hr 30min, they divided A LOT of scar tissue and got rid of some endo. But I have to have another lap as my cervix is stuck to bowel and I have some in my Pouch of Douglas so I need a colorectal surgeon present just incase!
Honestly though the anaesthetic was a breeze. I had no pain from the c02 they pumped in me. I’m actually not fussed about the next one. I just hope they’re kind to my bowel Confused.
Only thing I had was bad constipation, I couldn’t go for 4 days but that’s passed now. I would say don’t push yourself. I remember the day after my lap I was like well I don’t really feel any different. But it takes a long time for insides to heal so I’m trying to be a bit kinder to myself a week on!!! X

Indeed I have!!!! I had no idea I even had endo lol so it’s been a bloody shock taking it all in. I was “diagnosed” with IBS years ago.... sadly it’s been the endo!!! X

How come you’re having lap? X

Mamma2010 · 05/05/2018 21:02

Suspected endo 😢 and I've had two c sections so they think I have abrasions and my bowl may have fused to various parts!
I've had excessive pain and bleeding since I had my baby 9 months ago.x

@Mamma2010- bless you. I can empathise with the pain!!! I had a miscarriage in January and have had pain ever since- which led to this diagnosis.....
Are you having the lap done with an endo specialist? My first was with a gynaecologist but my next one will be a specialist x

Mamma2010 · 05/05/2018 22:34

Aww honey I'm sorry 😢
I believe it's a gyney specialist!
I'm also convinced the GA won't work and I will feel everything or it will work too well and I won't wake up! Pathetic I know but having never been under I am terrified!!!!!

@Mamma2010- I was the same but TRUST ME you will be fine. I had about 7 medical people around me when having the anaesthetic so you’re in good hands and being monitored all the time. Last thing I remember before the anaesthetic is them asking me about my job. Next thing I know there’s a nice lady stroking my arm giving me morphine 😂. Honestly YOULL BE FINE!
I’m just sat here reading my medical notes from the lap- I’ve also got endo in my utero sacaral ligaments 😢 one of the most PAINFUL spots! Trust me to get all the shit endo lol x
