Broken tooth

So a fairy big (like a 1/6 of the tooth) broken off one of my back tooth when eating a mentos. I think there have been a hole there before as well. Pretty sure the tooth was filled before. It doesn't hurt or anything.

Obviously I need to book a dentist appointment but was thinking I might go home (I'm not from the UK ) to get my teeth sorted as it's surely cheaper home. Probably can't go home for another 2-3 weeks. Can I wait that long?

Also just to be prepared what shall I get from the pharmacy in case it starts hurting?

If it's just a piece of the enamel that came off it should be okay for a while. If you cracked it down to the root it should be extracted. Getting a tooth pulled isn't usually all that expensive compared to other dental work.

Thanks for the help @MissConductUS. I called the NHS dentist in registered at and made an appointment for Wednesday. Fingers crossed we can save the tooth tho I would want to save it. See what she says and I'll go from there 😊
