Lump in breast

thinkingaboutfostering · 04/05/2018 00:46

Just over a month ago I found a lump in my right breast. Went to the doctors and given an urgent appointment to have it checked. The appointment was just over a week ago and by the time the appointment came round the lump had gone - I still attended the appointment and it was confirmed thar it had gone.

Tonight I have found another lump in the same breast. I don't want to waste the doctors time going again..... but then if it is something???

Any advice welcome!

ha! Now we understand why the old advice was always "wait a month... or maybe 3" before you go see GP. Then they found folk waited 6-12+m, and that was sometimes a problem. I had same, btw, my lump was almost gone by time my appt. But it's not quite totally gone now, I can still find mine, wonder when it will go completely...

If you're sure that same breast a month ago didn't have the lump you find now: I would reckon it's not cancer; cancer doesn't grow so quick. So I'd probably wait a month or 2. If you go thru the system again they may give you better advice about what to do about each & every new lump. But you have to live with the uncertainty.

I disagree. Every time you get a lump see your gp and get it checked out.

Sometimes the lyph nodes in your breast can swell or something(forgor the right terminology) at a certain point in your cycle. Was told this when I first found a lump. Mine disappeared afterba biopsy and the cells where not cancerous.
Hope that helps.
But either way get it checked iut if you are worried.

Cysts especially come and go quickly (I read everywhere).

I have had cysts that lasted many months. My consultant told me to come back every time I get a lump. Take no chances.

The appointment you had to check the first lump, was that a mammogram and ultrasound screening, as well as a physical exam?

Always go the GP if you find a lump. You are NOT wasting their time. I was told this by my own GP!

Thanks everyone. I've rung the GP surgery and they want to see me
