DD1 3.7 yo has very dry goose bumpy skin which is rough to the touch. She has red bumps (blocked inflamed pores)on her arms and legs and a couple on her cheeks near ears. It's not actually that noticable tho from the description you'd think it would be!
She has been over-exposed to the sun this week and also has hayfever which seems to be having the knock-on allergic effect of making her skin a bit inflamed (she's also got a chesty cough because of the pollen) . All over, her skin is rough to the touch and rashy looking. It also looks a bit like the heat rash she had as a baby.
My question is, how can she sweat if her pores are blocked up? Also, does anyone know if a child with tendencies to hayfever, eczema etc can develop asthma too? Will she grow out of the Keratosis Pilaris?
What can we do to improve her skin apart from loads of moisturiser? Is there any point in taking the loofah to her?(We already declorinate her bath water and use wash-balls instead of detergent)
Thanks if you've got this far...
