Irregular periods and norethisterone

My end of June period is due bang on the day my husband and I are having a rare few days away. I've never taken norethisterone before though have a pack at home. The thing is, I'm not regular, so unsure when to start taking it. My cycles have recently been:
26,27,24,25,23,26,26.
Do I go by the average or the shortest cycle which would mean starting day 20 which seems really early especially if that would have been a 27 day cycle?

Yes, start on the day that would give the shortest cycle.
Those cycles apart from the 23 days are not really irregular. Irregular would be classed as a week or more out either side, not a day or so. I've not done the maths but if you do, it looks as if your average cycle length is 26 days. It's really rare for anyone to go exactly the same number of days each month. Is it a disaster if you have a period when away?

But it says start three days before you're due so that would mean starting it on day 20. I rather not be on so I can enjoy our holiday rather worrying about my period.

That's what I said! (Day 20.)

I was making the point that your cycles based on what you wrote are not exactly irregular and a dr wouldn't say they were. Most women vary by a couple of days either side of their average. I always considered my periods regular, and they varied from 29- 33 days.

If you really want to delay the period you're going to have to start on day 20.
