make up makes spots worse

I'm a 27 year women and I can't wear make up ! .
During the day I wear lipstick , eyeliner, mascara and a small amount of blush ...... My skin does get spots and I occasionally have a mini break out , those spots quickly clear .

But when I put foundation on i know the next day I will be covered in spots , I've tried high end and low end products. Could I be allergic to something in the make up ? .

How often are you washing your brushes/sponges?

How old is your make up - it does go off.

This is how I was taught to do it (seriously the school brought beauticians in because people were sharing mascara and passing infections around)

Cleanse, tone and moisturise, allow the moisturiser to sink in.

Do not touch foundation with your hands. Wash your hands before applying.

Use a brush or a sponge but don't let them touch the bottle of foundation, put a bit of foundation on a sponge and use another or a brush to put it on your face. You can use your hands to blend but only after you have finished with the sponge/brush.

Wash your hands, sponges/brushes in soapy water and air dry.

Foundation gives me spots too. Even light ones. I practice good hygiene. The best I have found so far is chantacaille but the coverage is so light it's barely worth bothering with. I generally just wear a primer like benefit Porefessional and powder. That doesn't seem to affect my skin.

Interesting. I may just use a primer or BB cream too

It could be the silicone in he foundation. Anything ending in cone like dimethicone is usually the culprit. I can use Lancome Teint audible

Lancome Teint Idole

Maybe try something more natural/clean, with less allergens/silicone/artificial stuff/weird fragrance in it. I have super sensitive skin and buy all my makeup from places like Lovelula or Naturisimo etc I wouldn't even bother with places like boots as their makeup is not very natural and full of artificial stuff that can irritate the skin. Unfortunately it's trial and error with the more natural brands but you can get samples on line and find one that doesn't cause spots

Thanks everyone , I'm going to do some research , maybe I'll find a bbcream as my skin doesn't really need the heavy duty stuff ( I use Estée Lauder double wear for a night out or special occasion )

It's annoying because I rarely wear foundation I waste basically a whole bottle as I use so little by the time it expires :(
