Tonsil

I've had 1 swollen tonsil on the right for over 2 weeks. Not felt unwell in my self. Went to the gp last week who said it must be viral. Its not going down and somedays its no trouble but others like today its affecting my ear. Anyone know what it could be? Back at the gps tomorrow. It looks normal, no white spots or redness just enlarged. Also 27 weeks pregnant.

Would typically be your body is fighting something off, usually a virus and should go down in a few weeks. What did the GP say? :)

Gp was useless i have other things too like pain in shoulder blade when breathing, armpit pain that shoots to my elbow. Ive been getting that every few months (it will come and go) for a year now. She says thats from my muscles been tight but i don't think they are. She said my tonsil is swollen but she isn't concerened! Doesn't think its viral or an infection and wants me to return only if it gets bigger. She is saying all this is because I'm pregnant when actually it all started when i quit smoking, although that could be a coincedent. She said to gargel with aspirin to stop it hurting if it hurts but i have woken up this morning feeling absetloutly awful. Armpit pain, neck pain, shoulder blade pain now and again and its effecting my ear. Headache and a temp of 37.4 i know that isnt high but higher than normal x

Go back to gp and ask to be referred to ENT, one tonsil should not be swollen for that long without an obvious infection (viral or otherwise).

I am going to go back and see a different gp if it is still swollen in a week. I'm sick off feeling like this. Woken up this morning feeling the same. I feel like I've been punched in my armpit its like a numb feeling. I have had an ultrasound on that armpit and breast 6+ months ago because of lumps in my breast and they said it was just glandular and dense tissue x

They don't refer you. There faviroute line is come back in two weeks or that there is nothing wrong and yes its swollen but looks fine. They just don't care

Try and be "strong" aka forceful at next appointment, if they make any silly comments like it's pregnancy just say I've never heard of swollen tonsil or armpit pain as a pregnancy symptom etc just keep deflecting any answer that doesn't make sure to you. Good luck.

I did tell her when i was there the other day that it couldn't be from pregnancy and her reply was well strange things happen in pregnancy. I will defiently going back. I have no idea what could be causing this armpit pain. Its so strange
