Been waiting for a new surgery date since mine was cancelled in march have finally received it today. It's in 3 weeks will I have to have another pre op? We're on holiday the week before and I really don't want to cancel if pre op falls on that week as I've been looking forward to it for so long Sad

Why not phone the pre-assessment clinic? Shouldn't be a problem unless anything's changed with your health. If you had blood tests done before your original date then they may need repeating (depending on the operation/your normal health).

(if you did need to have repeat blood tests they could likely be done on the day you go in so shouldn't interfere with the hols).

No blood tests just weight and blood pressure that was it and talked me through op.

i was due surgery in jan which was cancelled and I had it last week, I had to go to pre assessment again even though nothing had changed as they needed up to date bloods and swabs

I haven't had any blood tests or swabs done but its nose surgery so don't know if that makes a difference

If they didn't do/plan to do either before you're last date then it won't be a problem now. I'd probably still phone the pre-assessment clinic just to confirm they're not expecting to see you again/reassure them that nothing's changed.

I had my pre op (hight, weight, lung functin, liver and kidney function) four weeks before my operation for breast cancer as I wanted to go on a pre booked holiday. The surgeon was fine with it. I'd check with your surgeon.

Panic over a friend of mine has just said 'can you not just pop back if all else fails' I forgot I'm holidaying in this country and hour and a half away so that is doable! Phew!
