I had a mild cold about a month ago but it's lingering and really affecting me.

I need to lose about 2 stone and have revamped my eating & red wine habits but I want to start exercising again. I just can't feel well though.

My nose is blocked, I've got a phlegmy cough (nice). I'm exhausted & sleeping 10 hours a night, when I walk up stairs, my arms & legs feel like empty wetsuits.

Please send me some tips about how to start feeling less exhausted. Is it just a case of pushing through?

Thank you.

Are you taking any multivitamins? It could be a matter of low level deficiencies. Zinc in particular is important for your sinuses and immunity. Supplementation has helped me with that.

You could also try a neti pot (nasal irrigation) to see if that helps your sinuses. If you aren't breathing properly or deeply it could effect you ability to sleep restfully.

Best of luck! Nothing like feeling run down for no apparent reason.

I agree with aprilivy, I’m feel the same as you slight I found zinc, b vitamins and iron helped me feel more ‘normal’ and also trying to get out for a short walk.

And don't forget vitamin D.

Oh thank you!

I'm not, I'm relying on my diet but actually I think that's s great idea. Any tips on what sort to buy or are they all similar?

My GP - who checks my blood regularly because of Hashimoto - put me on "pure encapsulations Vitamin K (because I am menopausal) + D". I had to take 1 capsule every other day for about 4 months.

I wasn't expecting the difference it made. Lot's of niggles I had put down to ageing just vanished (pains in arms and legs, problems with concentration, colds that threatened to come out and then didn't, ....).

Now I take care to eat the right things and go out into the sun more.
I was also put on selene for a while.

A good pharmacy should have someone who can help you with finding the best supplement for you. I maybe wouldn't count on the big chains to care that much, so look for a place that seems to have a good assortment of vitamins and supplements and then ask away!

If you are sleeping 10 hours a night and are exhausted then you need to see your GP.
