another period/pregnancy question

not sure where this question should be posted but... okay, dd is 9.5 months old, still breastfeeding. I think i have had 2 periods... 28 days apart, only they were short...only bled for 2-3 days... not much to them really... pre-pregnancy they were 7 days, heavy and painful. So i was expecting my next period on monday just gone... no show.... and we had an accident with a condom. But, after the accident, a few days after, was when i thought my period had come.. but like i say, it was really short if it was one. I did a pregnancy test a week ago which was negative. All this week i have had cramps, but no period. i do feel a bit off colour... but that could just be tiredness... what do you think?

fingers crossed you get next AF soon - tho of course you might always get PG before next AF!

Spod · 16/08/2004 23:01

i tried the injection... awful for me... really bad periods and very irregular cycles... didnt stop my periods like most women... i just dont get on with contraceptives. I am really hoping its just a blip... maybe baby's feeding patterns have affected af?

Spod · 16/08/2004 23:03

mummytoseven... dont say that! I would never wish a pregnancy away, but the next time i have a baby i want it to be at a nicer time in our lives.

it is the only contraceptive i can have spod, i have to take the mini pill with it to stop irregular bleeding but it works fine for me apart from the 1 stone weight gain which i have nearly lost in these 5 weeks

Spod · 16/08/2004 23:05

oh yeah... the weight gain, i remember, that was awful too! about 2.5 stone!

and i was a moody old hag too... and lost interest in sex... so no point in the contraception really!

thats 1 thing ive never been thats moody, even when pregnant, my dp couldnt beleave i wasnt moody as that was what his mates had warned him about

Spod · 16/08/2004 23:09

i was so not moody when preggers... overly and irritatingly nice and happy! so at least if i am again... not all bad

oh spod - I didn't mean anything like that by saying let nature take its course - I just meant let your hormones sort themselves out without interfering with them by taking the pill or other hormones - thoughts about m/c never crossed my mind at all - because of the neg tests I have assumed that you aren't pg. So sorry to have inadvertently upset you

johno · 16/08/2004 23:18

night spod

Spod · 17/08/2004 22:47

mummy2seven... no no no, i wasnt upset... it was when you said 'you mught get pregnant before your next AF'.... tempting fate and all that... I just meant that although i dont want to be pregnant just now, if i was i would accept it and be happy about it, but that in my odeal world i will wait and plan the next baby so that i can really enjoy it. no offence taken at all. AF returned today also!!!! so at least i can relax now.... thanks again for your support.

oh dear spod = that bit about getting pg before next af was directed at Johnno, not at you I really must go to bed earlier, and post when a bit more coherent!!!

Spod · 17/08/2004 22:58

oh i see!!!! i think i should get more sleep too!! this is the only time of night i get a chance to mumsnet..... i really wasnt offended/upset btw.... at the end of the day, every pregnancy is exciting isnt it? i was just so confused about AF not arriving etc... made me a bit panicky!
