Womb Ablation

I had a womb ablation three years ago after suffering horrendous periods. The operation was a success and my periods have stopped altogether. Now I know that my periods could return in the future but what happens when I reach the menopause? How will I know I am entering it for example. My mother's first symptoms were erratic, heavy periods. She then got the hot flushes etc. Will I go though the menopause as normal? I am assuming I will as I still have my ovaries and womb. I know you are considered having gone through the menopause when you do not have a period for a certain amount of time. Assuming I still have no periods then, I won't know if it complete?

I know I sound like an idiot not knowing but I have no one to ask. I had no follow up appointment after the Op, so had no one to answer my question.

You can get a blood test which shows hormone levels which determines if you have gone through the menopause or not. Although I'm not sure if it's 100 per cent reliable.
