Found a lumpy part in my breast. I'm breastfeeding but I'm pretty sure it's not mastitis (having had that a few times already, plus no fever etc). It's Saturday morning so do I call out of hours or do I wait until Monday to see normal GP?

If you don’t feel unwell I would think it could wait til Monday. But if you start to feel fluey then try and get an ooh appt.

Thank you - that's what I was thinking. See if it goes and then can go on Monday if not. If fluey feelings start then I could do OOH, get anti biotics and see if they have any effect.

Do you get an appointment?

Receptionist at surgery is tougher than old boots. Despite telling her the problem, I can't even phone again until I've finished work as the "care navigators" (WTF!!?!?!) won't even speak to me if the doctor can't call back straight away to discuss further and - if I'm lucky - to arrange a time.

I teach and have been teaching all day and so will phone at 3.01pm and won't shift until I speak to someone with more heart and empathy. Her first response was "well you'll just have to not go to work if you want to see a doctor" and when I asked about late afternoon/ evening appointments, I was told "they're not for people like you".

So when I do eventually see the GP I will raise this and also get in touch with PALS.
