Fracture in wrist?

I fell off some stepladders on Saturday morning and had some numbness and pain in my wrist which progressively got worse. Went to A&E and was X-rayed, given a splint and referred to fracture clinic today query scaphoid fracture. Dr examined X-rays today and said as no pain below thumb he said sprained not fractured. I’ve read a bit about this type of fracture and it looks as though they often can’t be seen on X-rays as they don’t show up immediately. Has anyone had any experience with this at all?

Fractured scaphoids sometimes aren't visible on plain x-rays but it is pretty unlikely if you aren't tender over the scaphoid and the x-rays are normal.
