Tonsillitis and Kidney pain

My teenage DS has been floored all week with tonsillitis and a mad temperature. Yesterday he had really bad back pain and stomach pain. He's normally very fit and can't stand straight. I've just googled. Strep throat can lead to kidney failure. Am freaking out as I'm away overnight tomorrow with work. 111 or am I catastrophising?

Hope your Ds is ok & pain stopped ? If not have you called 111?

Called 111 last night they said the pain seemed under control and to contact Gp today. He has an appointment at 4. I'm 2 and a half hours away😢

Pain still there GP gave more antibiotics and sent him for blood tests. They're a constant worry Hmm
